Laurie completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Western Ontario (now Western University) and her master’s degree at the University of Waterloo. She has studied learning, behaviour, executive functioning, social, emotional and mood related functioning in children, adolescents and adults. Laurie has been practicing psychology for over 30 years with experience in mental health, employment, school and private practice settings. Her passion is helping people become who they want to be; to reach their own goals. She believes that information is power and once empowered, people can accomplish just about anything. She works with children, adolescents and adults and enjoys the uniqueness of each of her patients.
Laurie provides diagnostic and counselling services related to a variety of school and general life issues. She assists individuals in making decisions, developing coping and problem solving skills, strengthening executive functioning skills, and addressing learning disabilities or challenges. She is willing to team with parents in supporting their children, teens, and young adult children. She provides psychological assessments for learning needs with extensive recommendations for home and school to support school success. Laurie tailors her work and her recommendations to fit her clients, their families, and the environments in which they need to function. She believes strongly in education and having the knowledge to understand and address challenges.
